the forest is a survival horror game that doesn’t use cheap jump scares. instead, the feeling of being alone on an island full of cannibal mutants keeps you on edge. after a plane crash, your child is taken by a mysterious man in red. your mission is to survive on the dangerous island and search for your child.
your first goal is to build a base and take care of your hunger and thirst. you can build preset structures or design your own. but cutting trees and hunting animals will attract unwanted visitors. at first, the cannibals just watch, but soon they attack and try to destroy your camp. early enemies are weak, but after a few days, stronger and scarier mutants like armsy, virginia, and cowman show up and become a real threat.
as you survive, you’ll need to explore dark caves to find clues about your child and the island’s secrets. the game tells its story through items and notes you discover underground. you don’t need to find everything to finish the game, but exploring helps you learn the dark past of the peninsula. key items like the climbing axe and keycard are needed to reach the end, while other gear makes survival easier. finding the map and compass early is also a smart move.
the forest is best when you balance building, surviving, and exploring at the same time. the creepy and mysterious atmosphere will keep you hooked. you can also play in co-op, and it’s highly recommended — exploring alone can get very scary.

The Forest drops you into a beautiful yet terrifying wilderness where the locals aren't exactly welcoming (think cannibalistic mutants with a serious personal space issue). Crafting and survival are key, but let's be honest, most of your time will be spent screaming and desperately trying not to become someone's dinner. If you enjoy being constantly on edge and occasionally building elaborate tree forts that ultimately fail to protect you, this game is a wild ride.

A fun survival game with lots of creative freedom. you can try different ways to fight against monsters. the monsters are creepy and the blood looks a bit realistic, but it’s not too disturbing. there’s a story in the game, but you can choose to ignore it if you just want to focus on survival.
you can build your own houses using logs, and with multiplayer (up to 8 players), you can even build a whole town with friends. the game lets you adjust the difficulty, and cheats are available (though not recommended for regular play).
